A BIT ABOUT US
Our Story
That’s Soy Folks was started when the owner, Jennifer, learned how to make candles to give them as Christmas presents to friends and family. This was to help save money at Christmas time and to give a gift that was more personal. Jennifer then gave a few of her candles to family, friends and colleagues to test them, this soon led to over 200 candles being made to order, for all the excited new customers. That’s Soy Folks now sells online, at craft fairs and events throughout Glasgow and the West Coast of Scotland. Although Jennifer still works in the same kitchen producing the candles, it had to be extended to allow some room for food preparation.
It is a family affair, with her husband doing the boring stuff and her Mum and friends helping to man the stalls at craft fairs.

OUR PRODUCT INFORMATION
Wax
All products are made from 100% Soy. Soy wax produces less air born toxins when the candle is burning, and burns at a lower temperature which results in our candles lasting for longer than regular candles and making them less dangerous around pets and children.
All wax is self-coloured – white.
Fragrance
Our candles are scented with various fragrances, which are added to the wax by hand during the heating process
to ensure an even distribution of scent.
Jar
Candles come in a recyclable glass jar with lid. The lid allows the candle to be sealed when scent is not required and helps to maintain the candles freshness. Once the candle is finished, the jar can be rinsed clean with boiling water and used for storage.
Tag
The name of the fragrance is displayed on a decorative tag which is attached to the candle. The tag colour coordinates with the chosen fragrance and the twine it is attached with.
Packaging
Where possible all packaging materials are recyclable. Paper or wood wool used for inner packaging and card for outer packaging.
